TUCSON (KVOA) - The 25-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in Wednesday's collision in midtown was identified by Tucson Police Department on Thursday.

At around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Daniel Joseph Huggins was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2020 Harley-Davidson FXLRS collided with a Dodge Nitro at the intersection of 22nd Street and Fourth Avenue.

According to TPD, Huggins was traveling eastbound on 22nd Street when he was struck by a Nitro that was traveling in the opposite lane of traffic. The driver of the Nitro reportedly failed to yield when making a left turn onto Fourth Avenue.

Despite immediately rendering aid on the 25-year-old, Huggins was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nitro cooperated with the investigation and was determined to not be impaired at the time of the crash.

TPD investigators are currently working on determining if speed was a factor in the crash.

No charges, arrests or citations have been issued at this time.
