Two people died Sunday in a motorcycle-van collision in Shell River Township, Becker County.
According to a media release from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, an injury crash involving a van and a motorcycle was reported at 7:28 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the intersection of County 39 and Bass Lake Road, north of Snellman.
Investigators found a 2017 Harley Davidson, driven by Leonard Lewis Holmer, 50, of rural Perham, was southbound on County 39 when it collided with a vehicle driven by Roy Oscar Lattie, 57, of White Earth, as it was turning north onto County 39 from Bass Lake Road.
Holmer and his wife, Nancy Marlene Holmer, 51, who was a passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene. Lattie was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s – Detroit Lakes with undetermined injuries.
Assisting at the scene were the Carsonville Fire and Rescue Department, Detroit Lakes Fire Department and Minnesota State Patrol. The incident remains under investigation.
