The driver of a motorcycle was injured in a crash Tuesday morning southwest of Leitersburg.
A spokesperson at the Washington County Sheriff's Office said the driver lost control of the motorcycle after cresting a hill in the 21000 block of Leitersburg-Smithsburg Road.
Leitersburg Vol. Fire Co. and Smithsburg EMS assisted at the scene of the 11:12 a.m. crash.
Lt. James Ulrich, with the Leitersburg Vol. Fire Co., said the rider was an adult male who was taken to Meritus Medical Center
The rider's injuries were not life threatening, according to the sheriff's office.
Ulrich said the road was closed for about a half-hour with the assistance of fire police.
“It appeared the sole rider of the motorcycle laid the bike down to avoid a county highway department mower,” Ulrich said. “There was an orange sign prior to the mower that said 'Mowing Ahead.'”
