BETHLEHEM — A person who was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Creble Road and Elm Avenue in Selkirk Saturday night has died.

Police said a passing motorist saw the motorcycle and its operator, who police identified as town resident Scott M. Seavey, 50,  in a ditch at 9:41 p.m. The motorcyclist was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital in serious condition, but died overnight.

Investigators said Seavey had been operating a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Creble Road when, for a reason not yet determined, he crossed the double yellow line and left the roadway on the southbound shoulder.  Bethlehem Police are asking anyone who may have been in this area between 8:45PM and 9:40 PM, or has any information in relation to the crash, to contact them at 518-439-9973.  Police are also awaiting toxicology reports in the investigation.

Creble Road and a portion of Elm Avenue were closed for about three hours while police investigated. Selkirk Fire, Delmar-Bethlehem EMS and Albany County Paramedics assisted at the scene.
