N. AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Aiken County Coroner confirms 56-year-old Steven Knox from Graniteville died after the motorcycle he was driving crashed on the 300 block of Old Sudlow Lake Road in North Augusta.
A North Augusta Public Safety officer on the scene says their preliminary investigation shows Knox likely lost control around a curve and ran off the right side of the road. The Aiken County Coroner says Knox’s motorcycle ultimately hit a tree. NADPS says Knox was the only person involved in the crash.
Coroner Darryl Ables says Knox died from blunt force injuries. A toxicology analysis is pending.
Old Sudlow Lake Road was closed as emergency crews worked the scene. The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. Sunday and the scene was cleared around 10:15 p.m.
