Founded in 2010, Peter W. Mullin’s astonishing luxury car collection has been open to the public under the name of Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California. But due to COVID-19 induced lockdown, the establishment was forced to close down. But here is some good news for the fans. The museum will now be starting from April 9.

The Mullin Automotive Museum will now be open from Friday through Sunday, 10 am to 3 pm, and every following weekend. Tickets must be purchased in advance at mullinautomotivemuseum.com as capacity is significantly limited to comply with Ventura County restrictions and promote social distancing. The tickets are available in two sessions: 10.00 am – 12.30 pm and 12.30 pm – 3.00 pm. The museum will also run semi-private tours by appointment on Thursdays.

To maintain visitors’ safety, the museum will follow health guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of California, and the County of Ventura. The Staff members, docents at the Museum, will undergo temperature checks and will wear a mask. The visitors will have to compulsory wear a mask and be checked for the temperature to entry points. The visitors are refrained from bringing any personal items with them, such as – bags, backpacks, purses, umbrellas, pets, strollers, monopods, tripods, etc. Visitors are also not allowed to eat or drink in the museum. They are not allowed to wear roller shoes and are advised not to touch the cars or artifacts in the museum collection. Additionally, the museum will also enforce social distancing guidelines of at least six feet between unrelated groups. It will also increase the frequency of routine cleaning and provide hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility.

“As we welcome back guests, we will continue to prioritize the health of our community, visitors, volunteers, and employees,” said Mullin Automotive Museum Founder and Executive Director Peter Mullin. “We are more excited than ever to reopen our doors and continue sharing our passion for the automobile,” he further added.

Rated as one of the top ten automotive museums globally, the Mullin Automotive Museum is a unique venue showcasing cars, furniture, sculpture, art, and other art deco collectibles. The Exhibits in the museum will focus on new car-related photography taken during the pandemic. It will feature the world’s most expensive collection of Bugatti artwork, sculpture, and furniture. Additionally, guests can see Best of Show winners and crowd favorites, including the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, 1938 Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet H6B, and the 1994 Bugatti EB 110. The new website features an archive of the museum’s collection — complete with high-quality studio images and placard information — and the ability to purchase books, museum merchandise, art, and accessories from the museum’s online store. Though it was not operational during the pandemic, the Museum did start a virtual tour for an exclusive experience to its visitors. The Mullin Automotive Museum completed 10 years in 2020. It invited fans to experience historically significant classic cars with an in-depth tour of the collection with a YouTube series of Docent Tour videos starting from October 2.
