A few local businesses are teaming up to give back to community members who work in food service or health care.
Shaner Automotive, Krill Recycling, and Advanced Auto Parts are offering a free oil change to anyone who works in a restaurant or bar through the end of this month at the Shaner Automotive on Route 8.
Next month the same “no-strings-attached” free oil change offer for any make or model vehicle will apply to anyone who works at any job connected to the healthcare industry.
Shaner Automotive owner Rob Shaner explains what he hopes to accomplish with this effort.
“The restaurant and bar industry took the longest closing of most business. I’ve got some friends and family in the business, so I saw firsthand and I saw how bad it was for them,” Shaner said. “And then health care workers are frontline and taking care of the issue. So I think they just need to get some good givebacks.”
Those taking advantage of this offer will not have to show proof of employment but appointments are required by calling 724- 256-8922. Shaner Automotive is located across from the Clearview flea market.
