Harley-Davidson Co. said demand for its motorcycles fell off in the second quarter as consumers pulled back on spending due to coronavirus-related lockdowns that hit many of its key markets.
Harley on Tuesday said consumers purchased about 52,700 motorcycles globally in the second quarter, down from 71,800 in the same period a year earlier. Unit sales fell 27% in the U.S., the company’s largest single market, 30% in the region including Europe and the Middle East and 10% across Asia. They were down 27% world-wide.
