An Indianapolis officer was killed in a crash in Morgan County on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Officer Justin Keehn, who joined the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department in 2015, was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash, according to an IMPD news release.
IMPD Chief Randal Taylor said Keehn was a loving husband and father as well as a dedicated public servant.
"(Keehn) quickly became a rising star of the North District, where he always seemed to be at the right place at the right time," Taylor said.
"Justin was known for being a proactive officer who cared for those he served and those he worked with, and who demonstrated a commitment to our community.
"We are grateful for his service. May he rest in peace."
