A woman was flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after she was hurt in a motorcycle wreck on Greencastle Pike on Thursday afternoon, according to Maryland State Police.
The woman was a passenger on the motorcycle, which crashed in the area of 13228 Greencastle Pike, a state police spokesman said.
Police received the call at 5:38 p.m.
A man who was driving the motorcycle was transported to Meritus Medical Center. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said the woman was flown to the shock trauma center mostly out of precaution.
The spokesman said he didn't have details about what might have caused the wreck, which forced authorities to close Greencastle Pike for a short period.
