Pittsfield 19-year-old killed in motorcycle crash - masslive.com

PITTSFIELD – A 19-year-old man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle Saturday afternoon.

The victim’s name is not being released until family members can be notified. He is a city resident, police said.

The crash occurred at about 12:16 p.m. on Government Drive. The rider was heading north when he crashed his 2017 Kawasaki into a guard rail on the east side of the road near Francis Street, police said.

The man was taken to Berkshire Medical Center by County Ambulance and was pronounced dead, police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

It remains under investigation by Pittsfield Police. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information about it is asked to contact Officer David Hallas in the traffic bureau at 413-448-9700 ext. 560.

Police and the Pittsfield Fire Department closed Government Drive for about two hours while they responded to the crash, police said.
