Two injured in motorcycle accident - The Republic

A motorcycle rider and passenger were injured at about 4 p.m. Tuesday after an accident on U.S. 31 just south of County Road 100S.

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies said a motorcycle driven by Tony G. Michael, 53, North Vernon, failed to stop for slowed traffic on U.S. 31. After skidding about 75 feet, the motorcycle came to rest on the east side of the roadway with Michael and a passenger, Connie Hunter, 52, address not available, thrown from the motorcycle, deputies said.

Michael was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital. Hunter was flown to an Indianapolis hospital, deputies said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Michael and Hunter were not wearing helmets when the accident occurred, deputies said.
