Syracuse, N.Y. -- A motorcyclist appeared to have fallen off his motorcycle before it hit a taxi on Syracuse’s East Side, according to Onondaga County 911 dispatch reports and a witness’ account.

A Syracuse police spokesperson was not immediately available to comment on the man’s condition. He was found unconscious by an officer, according to dispatch reports.

The crash was reported at about 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Fayette Street and Westmoreland Avenue, according to Onondaga County 911 dispatch logs.

By the time the motorcycle hit a taxi, whose driver had stopped at the intersection, the driver had fallen from the motorcycle, according to a witness who asked not to be identified.
