Three people died in two motorcycle crashes in Wayne County over the weekend, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Gerald P. Stanley, 31, of Newark, Wayne County, was driving east on South Townline Road in Palmyra when a deer entered the road and struck his motorcycle, deputies said.

Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal crash came hours after a two-vehicle crash in Sodus killed two people riding a motorcycle.

Theodore Cole and Kim Chavous were southbound on a motorcycle on Buerman Road in Sodus around 9:35 p.m. Friday, when the motorcycle collided with an oncoming vehicle, deputies said. Both were thrown from the motorcycle.

Chavous was pronounced dead at the scene. Cole was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries. Their hometowns and ages were not released.
