Two injured in Harvard motorcycle crash - Northwest Herald

Two people were injured after a motorcycle crash Saturday night in unincorporatedHarvard.

A 20-year-old Hebron man sustained serious injuries after a single motorcycle crash in the 7200 block of Oak Grove Road in unincorporated Chemung Township, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office and Harvard Fire Department responded to the scene at 8:38 p.m. Saturday.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle was traveling northbound on Oak Grove Road from Ramer Road when for unknown reasons it traveled off the roadway into the west ditch, according to the release.

The driver of the motorcycle, the 20-year-old Hebron man, was flown by helicopter to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford with serious injuries. The passenger, a 21-year-old McHenry woman, was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley with minor injuries.

The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, the passenger was wearing a helmet. The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
