A 69-year-old Columbus Township man riding a motorcycle died in a two-vehicle collision late Friday afternoon in Kimball Township.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., St. Clair County Sheriff Sgt. Scott Jones said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Wadhams Road before colliding with the passenger side of a southbound SUV, driven by a 25-year-old Clyde Township woman, as it turned left to head east on Lapeer Road.

The man's name has not yet been released.

Jones said the Wadhams and Lapeer intersection was shut down for several hours following the crash. Witness statements had been taken, but he said the incident was still under investigation, including review of video.

“All we know is the motorcycle hit the car,” Jones said. “… What the lights were and all that has to be determined.”

In addition to the sheriff’s department, the Kimball Township Fire Department and Tri-Hospital EMS responded to the scene Friday.
