A husband and wife killed in a weekend motorcycle collision in Thornton leave behind three children, the youngest 12 and the oldest 20.

Mike and Krisi Schaff were riding a Harley motorcycle eastbound on 104th Avenue near Washington Street on Saturday when a car pulled out of a King Soopers parking lot and the couple died in the collision.

Now, their 20-year-old son, Tony Schaff, is torn between mourning and caring for his siblings.

“I’ve been devastated since, but I know I have to stay strong for my brother and sister as much as I can,” Schaff told Denver 7.

“Mike was one of the funniest guys I’ve ever known in my life,” said Wyndy Dominy, his boss at A-Shed USA and a long-time friend.

“Krisi was much more serious. She was the boss,” Dominy said. “They’d been together more than half their lives and they were in love with each other.”
